Q:       I recently purchased CCMP830; however, could not find the optimal salinity for the L1-si media? I would greatly appreciate it if you could inform me the salinity for each strain. 

A:           We do publish an optimal salinity for our L1-si because different organisms have different needs. The strain that you purchased are typically started in L1-si with a salinity of 33-35. By the end of their life they tend to be in media with a much higher salinity due to evaporation. after 9-12 weeks in a test tube they can lose as much as 20% volume when I just checked my 3rd set the pH was at 45ppt.
