L1-Si Medium

This enriched seawater medium is based upon the f/2 medium recipe (Guillard and Ryther 1962) with additional trace metals, BUT does not have silicate added. It is a good general-purpose marine medium for growing coastal algae as well as ocean phytoplankton that are not diatoms.
