- Genus change from Kephyrion to Pseudokephyrion per R.Anderson 12July2023
Pseudokephyrion and Kephyriopsis are biflagellate cells. Generally speaking, the two flagella are inserted about 1/4 to 1/3 the way down the cell, there is a single chloroplast and an eyespot is present on many species. The loricas are 4.5-5 um wide, 6.5-7.5 um long, with a mouth opening of about 2.5-3 um.
