The National Center for Marine Algae and Micobiota (NCMA) is proud to be a Partner Organization with the Algae Biomass Organization (ABO).  It is with great enthusiasm that the NCMA will attend, present, and exhibit at the 8th annual Algae Biomass Summit in San Diego, CA from September 29-October 3. The Summit is the world’s largest algae event.  All of the cutting edge services available at Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences will be represented at this weeklong nexus of innovators, entrepreneurs, scientists, engineers, and policy makers. The Summit provides a platform to learn about the new research and technology at every level of the supply chain in the algae industry. The NCMA will be promoting the diversity of our culture collection and our expertise in culturing algae.  We look forward to collaborating with other industry professionals as well as establishing partnerships with companies further up the supply chain.

We invite you to come meet Dr. Pete Countway who will be presenting a poster (#216) or stop by exhibit booth #614 to learn more about the products and services available at the NCMA. This year at the Summit, we will be raffling off a chance for 50% off the cost of tuition for our next Algal Culturing Techniques Course, which will take place May 31-June 6, 2015. This historically well-attended course is designed for those interested or working in the fields of biotechnology, aquaculture, and biofuels. Through a combination of lectures, laboratories, fieldwork, and tours, participants learn all aspects of algal culturing techniques.  For the first time ever, the course will be taught at the brand new Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences Research Campus in East Boothbay, Maine.
