This artificial freshwater medium is the primary media used by the NCMA for our freshwater strain collection. It was developed at the NCMA based on DYIII (Lehman) 1976 and DY-IV (Keller and Andersen, in Andersen et al. 1997)

Please note: In order to better align with media practices used at the NCMA, DYV kits ordered after November 1st, 2021 will come with an f/2 phosphate solution instead of the Na2 β-glycerophosphate solution.
