Q+A:

Q: I am writing you with respect to cultivation of CCMP1329 which we intend to also cultivate in our laboratory. We are, however, converned with respect to potential formation of the toxin tetrodotoxin of safe decontamination of the cultivation equipment (e.g. glass vessels or pipets) as well as the culture medium itself. Since you are apparently maintaining a culture, I was wondering wether you can supply any guidelines for the cultivation of this algae?

A: No one has tested the toxin production in this strain, we depend on the depositor to supply this information. I can't speak to the guidelines for toxic strain is your country. Here at NCMA we use autoclaved Pasteur pipettes and pipetman in a Laminar Flow hoods for all transfers.
